Job Description


Primary Duties & Responsibilities
\\t

  • In collaboration with Product Line Management and R&D Management; responsible for generating development program schedules for key projects that hit key milestones, deliverables and ultimately meet customer requirements. \\t
  • Responsible and accountable for implementing and delivering the approved programs, meeting defined program goals and timelines. \\t
  • Reporting up to Divisional VP, BU SVP, Segment President and Exec as necessary. \\t
  • Work with key stakeholders to define necessary CapEx, resources and budget. \\t
  • Work with Product Line R&D teams along with NPI teams and production lines to generate detailed project plans, defining dependencies and incorporating infeed programs (Chip, CoC, FBG, FTA, TEC other) and requirements where necessary.
\\t
  • Assess projects for key risks and mitigations prior and throughout the program. \\t
  • Track and regularly report out progress against deliverables and communicate gaps and needs. \\t
  • Become embedded in R&D, NPI and Ops Teams to enable intimate understanding and appreciation of functional needs \\t
  • Regular and occasionally extended international travel to II-VI\'s 980nm pump manufacturing sites will be mandatory for this role
Education & Experience
\\t
  • 5+ years\' experience in Program/Project Management of Manufacturing, R&D, Product Development within Optoelectronics, Semiconductor Technology, Telecommunications, Automotive or equivalent. \\t
  • Product Development, NPI, PiPo and Lifecycle Management. \\t
  • Experience of NPI Process, Project Lifecycles, Timelines, Budget and Cost Management. \\t
  • Honours degree or equivalent in Mechanical engineering, Electrical and electronic engineering or equivalent discipline.
Skills
\\t
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Methods. \\t
  • DFMEA, PFMEA \\t
  • Statistical Process Control. \\t
  • MS project \\t
  • Data Analysis, Excel, JMP \\t
  • Basic understanding of laser physics and optical components \\t
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to pull together and work with cross- functional teams and external parties. \\t
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills required in English. \\t
  • Methodical and well organized. \\t
  • Self-motivated and Flexible Team Player with a \'can-do\' attitude
