What's this role about?
This role is about leading the technical aspects of energy site audits, installations, and project management to optimise demand response and capacity solutions. It requires a blend of electrical engineering, automation, and project leadership skills, with a focus on metering and control systems to support grid balancing and energy flexibility initiatives.
What will I be doing?
Conducting site audits from sales handover to assess flexibility and processes.
Installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting energy metering equipment, control panels, and related hardware.
Supporting sales teams with technical expertise during customer engagements and commercial discussions.
Leading projects related to capacity management, metering solutions for balancing reserve, and Active Management of Variable Load Products (AMVLP).
Managing and supporting demand-side response (DSR) opportunities by evaluating site flexibility (MW capacity) and preparing work specifications for site integration.
Leading or assisting installations, troubleshooting, and ensuring successful project delivery.
What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?
Over 10 years of electrical/control engineering experience.
At least 3 years in team leadership or management.
Strong background in electrical installations, control systems, PLCs, VSDs, and networking protocols.
Practical experience with energy metering, current transformers (CTs), and industrial electrical fault finding.
Familiarity with automation systems, SLDs, and remote setup/configuration.
Ability to interpret and develop technical specifications for metering and control systems.
