About the role
------------------
This is a key role supporting the Policy Validation Team across our Regional Service Centres, as well as, setting and maintaining technical standards. . Acting as a recognised subject expert, you'll combine strong technical knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold regulatory requirements.
You'll take responsibility for managing complex, high-value and sensitive cases, ensuring fair outcomes for members. Alongside this, you'll train, coach and mentor team members, providing technical support to Policy Validation Officers to build capability and confidence across the function.
The role also involves monitoring and auditing technical activity, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and KPIs. We're looking for someone with strong experience in insurance fraud and policy validation, particularly in areas such as non-disclosure and misrepresentation. This role requires a solid understanding of how fraud impacts underwriting, together with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively. Knowledge of external fraud systems and databases would be a distinct advantage, although experience with similar platforms will also be considered.
Strong customer focus is central to this role, as you'll be dealing with sensitive and sometimes complex cases where professionalism and fairness are key. You'll also be a point of escalation within the team, so resilience and sound judgement will be important to maintain confidence and ensure appropriate outcomes. The ability to write clear, concise reports is desirable, helping to document findings and support informed decision-making.
In addition, you'll use your interpersonal skills to coach and mentor colleagues, role-modelling effective behaviours and supporting their development. Working across Underwriting and with internal stakeholders, you'll need strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence, build trust and ensure alignment. Finally, problem solving will be a natural strength, allowing you to assess issues, identify improvements, and support the team in driving the highest technical standards.

Broad experience of policy validation, with knowledge of fraud risks and (ideally) fraud systems.
Strong customer focus and resilience, acting as a trusted escalation point and handling complex cases fairly and effectively.
Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to mentor colleagues and influence internal partners.
Confidence in decision making and takes ownership of outcomes, comfortable making informed choices even under pressure.
