Person Specification

The minimum requirement necessary upon entry to the role is an IRSE licence in the following categories:
1.3.170, 1.3.190 with 1.3.180 advantageous
The minimum Signalling work experience necessary to perform the job is typically 5-7 years testing experience preceded by suitable design, construction or maintenance experience or evidence of substantial experience in a similar role.
The role requires that the following certificates and/or licences be held or working towards: PTS AC, DCCR, ICI, COSS/SWL, Driving Licence, Emergency Life Support, Fire Awareness, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, IOSH Working/Managing Safely, SPWEE, OLEC 1. Various Modular Testing Certification including 1, 2, 3B and 4.
Key Responsibilities
------------------------
Undertake Tester in Charge and Principles Testing duties within the limits of their authority in accordance with NR/L2/SIG/30014, relevant company standards and IRSE requirements.
Undertake planning and execution of testing activities in accordance with NR/L2/SIG/30014, relevant company standards and IRSE requirements.
Ensuring that all staff under their direct control receive a briefing on the testing activities they are to carry in a timely manner and in accord with NR/L2/SIG/30014.
Ensuring all test equipment used is correctly calibrated & controlled and that the detail of individual test equipment is recorded on the briefing sheet.
Ensuring that all equipment to be tested is done so in accord with the approved Testing Specification.
Ensuring that the obligation to report any occurrences of undue pressure or coercion within the testing process is understood and exercised by the testing staff.
As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.
Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
