About the Home
Our residential home supports up to four children aged 10-18 who are unable to live with their families. Nestled in a spacious, peaceful home with a large garden and surrounded by nature, the setting is intentionally designed to feel safe, calm, and healing.
Resident therapy animals -- including bunnies -- create a comforting, homely atmosphere that fosters emotional growth, belonging, and a sense of trust. Led by an experienced and compassionate leadership team, we are deeply committed to helping children achieve long-term, positive outcomes.
Your Role
As
Senior Residential Childcare Practitioner
, you'll take a lead role on shift, guiding and supporting the care team while setting the tone for therapeutic, relationship-based care. You'll be at the heart of every day -- helping children heal, grow, and thrive through consistency, empathy, and meaningful connection.
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, child-centred care tailored to each young person's needs
Lead and manage shifts, ensuring smooth and effective daily operation
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behavioural support strategies
Support therapeutic and recreational activities that promote development and connection
Maintain accurate, high-quality records in line with regulatory expectations
Mentor junior team members and promote a reflective, growth-oriented culture
Engage in ongoing training and professional development
What You'll Bring
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) -
essential
Solid experience in children's residential care, ideally in a senior or shift-leader role
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and Ofsted requirements
Calm, confident leadership and excellent communication skills
Emotional resilience and a warm, grounded approach to support and care
Full UK driving licence
Flexibility to work long day shifts with regular sleep-ins (2-3 per week)
