The Track and Maintenance Manager will have overall responsibility for upkeep of the track, managing the team to ensure racing at Towcester Racecourse is of the highest standard, ensuring compliance with statutory regulation and Health and Safety standards.
The postholder will manage the Track and Maintenance Team and will provide a safe working environment for all staff, stakeholders and contractors, placing integrity and welfare at the heart of every task carried out.
Hours: 40 per week (weekends required)

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities
Track
Ensure Track and Maintenance team members are always wearing full uniform
Ensure the track surface is always safe for greyhounds
Uphold health and safety practices, and support Racing Office to ensure racecourse complies with GBGB rules and regulations
Facilitate good working relationship with all officials, trainers and kennel staff to facilitate smooth running race meetings
Ensure track and maintenance issues are raised with management immediately
Maintenance
Ensure all grounds at Towcester Racecourse are maintained to the highest level and that public-facing spaces outside are always presentable to stakeholders, trainers and customers
Ensure all plant machinery (tractors and specialist equipment) required for race meetings and trial sessions is maintained constantly to the highest level, carrying out regular checks
Maintain the lawn areas and car parks, around the racecourse throughout the year
Operate relevant plant machinery (tractor/bowser) in line with HSE requirements
Clean and disinfect race kennels after racing and trial sessions
Welfare
Assist on track with greyhound safety at strategic points during a race
Pro-actively help colleagues work together to maintain the highest standard of care for the greyhounds
Prioritise greyhound welfare in all duties
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum three years' experience in leadership role
Full clean driving licence is a must
A strong understanding of health and safety management systems, risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
Track maintenance and repair knowledge: Understanding of track systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures is crucial
Computer literate (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc)
