About the role

We're looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join our team and help deliver safe, efficient and compliant transport plans across our operations. You'll be responsible for planning and optimising routes, coordinating resources, and working closely with drivers, customers and internal teams to ensure service targets are met.

Key responsibilities

Plan and optimise daily/weekly transport schedules and routes to meet service requirements Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently, factoring in capacity, time windows, and legal compliance Monitor live operations and respond quickly to disruptions (delays, breakdowns, changes in demand) Liaise with drivers, warehouse/operations teams and customers to ensure smooth execution Track KPIs (OTIF, utilisation, cost per drop, mileage, empty running) and identify improvements Ensure compliance with relevant transport regulations (e.g., tachograph, working time, driver hours) Maintain accurate planning data, paperwork, and system records Support continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and improve service
What we're looking for

Transport Managment CPC qualification Strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment Confident communicator--able to coordinate multiple stakeholders clearly and calmly Good working knowledge of transport compliance and operational constraints Comfortable using TMS/planning software and Excel (or Google Sheets) A proactive mindset with a focus on efficiency and customer service
