Senior Transport Planner (Groupage and Recycling)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Transport Planner with a strong background in groupage planning to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will excel in delivering outstanding customer service and possess demonstrable experience in the recycling industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead, innovate, and optimise transport operations within a fast-paced and evolving sector.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and optimise daily groupage transport operations to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Develop and maintain robust routing schedules, ensuring timely collection and delivery of goods, with particular attention to recycling materials and compliance with relevant regulations.

Act as the main point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional customer service and resolving queries or issues promptly and professionally.

Collaborate with warehouse, fleet, and logistics teams to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery.

Monitor transport performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational outcomes.

Liaise with third-party hauliers and service providers to secure capacity and maintain service standards.

Ensure all transport activities comply with health, safety, and environmental legislation, with a particular focus on recycling best practices.

Mentor and support junior staff, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of excellence.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in transport planning, with a strong focus on groupage operations.

Excellent customer service skills, with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.

Experience in the recycling industry is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of transport legislation, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Desirable Qualities

Leadership experience within a transport or logistics environment.

Pay: 37,500.00-400,000.00 per year
