Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Transport Planner to join a busy council in South London.

As the Senior Transport Planner your responsibilities will be:

\xc2\xb7To develop Merton\'s long term sustainable travel strategy / plan (walking, cycling and EV charging infrastructure).
\xc2\xb7The primary role will be to develop and produce several strategy documents related to sustainable transport, including cycling, walking and electric vehicles.
\xc2\xb7Candidates should therefore have a suitable level of knowledge and experience of transport planning focused on sustainable travel modes.
\xc2\xb7Specific knowledge of the latest technical guidance and experience of delivery of cycle and walking routes and EV charging infrastructure is essential. The candidate will be required to conduct effective consultation processes which will include representing the Council at public and committee meetings requiring occasional attendance at evening meetings. The post will also require regular site visits within Merton.
\xc2\xb7The post holder may also be required to work on other areas of transport planning and policy and on the delivery of sustainable transport projects. Previous experience of working in local government would be beneficial and preferable.
\xc2\xb7To also assist with other Transport planning matters
