About us

Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We solve the problems others choose to ignore, with surprising new inventions that defy convention and simply work better. We\'re growing fast and our ambition is huge - more categories, more locations, and more people. Pioneering technology takes more than just inventive engineers. At Dyson, we take a problem-solving approach to everything we do. And across our support teams, we\'re proud to be different. And importantly, we support change to maintain our rapid growth.

Efficiently managing the taxation of a company as large as Dyson requires meticulous attention to detail. Understanding the specific intricacies, such as how a change in temperature impacts VAT rates, is crucial. As part of the VAT Team, our responsibility primarily lies in meeting the European VAT compliance requirements for the EMEA group. However, we have the unique privilege of gaining insight into the day-to-day operations of the company, allowing us to identify issues and drive improvements in other teams. By enhancing controls and processes, we ensure accurate reporting to multiple government stakeholders.

We\'re committed to our campus culture and don\'t look to offer a regular hybrid working arrangement. This helps us to achieve the spirit of Dyson - collaboration, creativity, and inventiveness - in our inspiring, social, and dynamic workspaces.

About the role

The Senior VAT Accountant role presents an exciting opportunity for a curious and motivated individual, regardless of experience level, that is eager to comprehend the intricacies of a global supply chain and gain insight into the market journey of consumer products on a continental scale. Our team has a proven history of nurturing employees into accomplished international VAT specialists, and comprehensive training will be offered.

As a Senior VAT Accountant, you will report directly to the VAT Compliance Manager. Your primary responsibilities will encompass a range of vital tasks:

Firstly, you will support the meticulous preparation and submission of monthly VAT compliance obligations for multiple European entities and territories, diligently extracting financial data from our SAP ERP system monthly. Your analytical acumen will be put to the test as you scrutinise this data to ensure its accuracy and completeness before reporting.

Secondly, effective communication will be key as you collaborate with key stakeholders in various business units and processing teams. Your role will involve addressing, reviewing, and resolving audit queries promptly and efficiently. Your expertise and insights will contribute to maintaining seamless operations and airtight compliance.

Lastly, you will be entrusted with the crucial responsibility of preparing VAT balance sheet reconciliations within specified deadlines. Your meticulous attention to detail and adherence to timelines will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
