Job Description


Reuters is looking for an experienced video news journalist to join our exciting, fast-paced global TV hub in London.

You will have outstanding news judgment and will be passionate about winning the big stories for a global client base that includes more than 1,100 broadcast and digital media outlets. You will work on our London desk producing and covering senior roles in our intake, live and output operations in the newsroom.

You will also be expected to undertake occasional fieldwork and production for Entertainment, Sports and UK domestic teams. You will have demonstrated a strong ability to remain focused and organised under pressure and thrive working with and leading high-performance teams.

This is a desk position on a shift pattern that involves some weekend and night work.

As our trusted Senior Producer, you will:

  • Work as part of our news gathering team on the London desk driving and coordinating edited and live coverage from across the world to deliver to clients at speed.
  • Work as part of our output team ensuring our scripts are accurate, impartial and published at speed.
  • Be customer-focused and pitch story ideas which resonates across broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Lead teams covering events, from the planning phase through to fieldwork.
  • Mentor and train junior members of our team.
To be our Senior Video Producer, you will likely have:
  • At least 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in professional journalism in a broadcast, digital or agency environment.
  • Excellent news judgement and a solid track record of working in a breaking news environment.
  • Strong video editing and script writing skills.
  • Experience leading diverse teams both in the field and on the desk.
  • A track record in driving speed and accuracy.
  • A clear understanding of the news video needs of major broadcasters and digital clients.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and multi-task effectively.
  • A proven ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional leadership and people skills with a passion for helping colleagues sharpen their skills and achieve their career goals.
  • Fluent English \xe2\x80\x93 written and oral.
