Job Description

Senior Web Design Executive

Design, build and improve websites that support hundreds of veterinary practices across the UK and Europe.

About the role

Reporting to our Head of Digital, you'll play a key role in building, maintaining and improving the VetPartners website estate. This includes new site builds, launches and ongoing updates across around 200 practice websites.

You'll balance hands-on web build work with strong project management, working closely with internal teams, external agencies and practice stakeholders. Your work will directly support practices and delivery of a great online experience for their clients.

What you'll be doing

Project manage multiple website builds, updates and change requests across our practice and corporate sites. Building and maintaining sites within our WordPress Multisite CMS, focused on usability, accessibility and conversion. Working closely with our web agency and internal Digital team to deliver projects smoothly and on time. Coordinating activity across the wider Digital team and supporting the development of junior colleagues. Supporting European Marketing teams to transition practices onto the group website platform. Applying UX, design and technical best practice to solve common website challenges. Writing and maintaining meta data, image alt tags, and supporting light SEO activity and UX testing. Recommending ways to track and improve website engagement and performance.

What we're looking for

Essential

Experience building and managing websites using a leading CMS, ideally WordPress (Multisite experience is a plus). Confidence managing multiple projects and priorities at the same time. A solid understanding of UX, SEO and web best practice. Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Asana or similar. Clear, confident communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Nice to have

Experience working with Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Exposure to A/B testing or conversion optimisation. Relevant digital or web certifications.

We care more about what you can do than where you learned it. If you meet most of the essentials, we'd love to hear from you.

Why join us

Hybrid and flexible working, minimum 2 days per week in our York head office. The chance to work at scale, supporting hundreds of practices and real-world communities. A collaborative Digital team that values sharing knowledge and learning together. Opportunities to develop your skills and take on broader responsibility. A supportive, values-led culture where people are trusted to do their best work.

We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of background, identity or circumstance. If you need adjustments at any stage of the process, just let us know and we'll do our best to support you. We're open to flexible working patterns and happy to discuss what works for you. If this sounds like a great place to apply your skills, we'd welcome an Application, through the link, ideally with reference to a portfolio showing relevant website work. We look forward to hearing from you.
