Who you are



The role is best suited for someone with hands-on experience managing multiple support tasks and hosting environments. The ideal candidate will have a calm, methodical approach and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.

You'll be confident handling technical issues, from server errors to DNS problems, and you won't shy away from digging into a complex issue to get it fixed.

You should have a good working knowledge of web hosting, domains, and CMS platforms like WordPress.

You're someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly and is happy working both independently and as part of a wider team.

You'll be able to hit the ground running and be motivated by keeping clients happy and systems secure.

This position suits someone who's organised, technically confident, and comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day support tasks.

What you'll do



As a Senior Web Support Technician, you'll take the lead on the daily operations of our support team/function, including the management of our hosting environments

The role involves handling support tickets, ensuring client websites stay online and secure, and maintaining hosting environments.

You'll be the go-to person for technical issues--working through problems, fixing them quickly, and keeping clients updated along the way.

You'll collaborate with our developers and wider team to make sure support is consistent, responsive, and well-documented.

PLEASE NOTE. This role requires you to work from our office based in Fareham Hampshire (Hybrid). Please only apply if you are happy to work from this location

Your day to day



Lead the day-to-day running of the web support team and set the standard for customer service Manage and resolve support tickets, ensuring SLAs are met and issues are clearly communicated Take ownership of incidents, escalate where needed, and ensure follow-through to resolution Monitor hosting environments, flag performance issues, and maintain site security Oversee go-live processes for new websites and manage hosting migrations Liaise with hosting providers and manage DNS records, SSLs, domains, and renewals Conduct regular checks on PHP versions, config files, and bandwidth usage Provide technical input to website maintenance and development work Own internal IT systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and updates Support and mentor junior team members, promoting technical skills and accountability Track time accurately, maintain clear documentation, and support monthly client reporting Work closely with the wider team to apply updates, patches, and security measure

Knowledge and Experience



Experience in Linux (Ubuntu), MacOS, Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed PHP - Ability to read, write and troubleshoot PHP code efficiently. HTML, CSS and Javascript - diagnose and resolve website-related issues. Knowledge of WordPress - Understanding of WordPress architecture and plugins to troubleshoot and resolve conflicts. Server-Side Troubleshooting for issue resolution. Excellent Organisational skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication and literacy skills. Must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Pay: 32,000.00-40,000.00 per year
