Working Pattern: 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year as follows: Monday and Tuesday - 10:40am to 4:40pm

Job Details
Glenwood High School are looking for a Senior Youth Worker to work with groups of young people at Glenwood High School.
Working independently and as part of the Pupil Support team to plan, organise and evaluate activities to support and engage groups of pupils. Success will be measured in pupils' attendance and engagement in school.

Working with a 'target group' of pupils (including those in receipt of free school meals and those with attendance concerns) with a specialised focus on: Anxiety, Resilience, Self-Esteem.
Responding to low-level duty incidents and implementing proactive measures to prevent recurrence.
Extracting pupils from corridor areas and engaging in constructive dialogue to resolve behavioural challenges.
Addressing concerns related to groups of students congregating in toilets during class time, effectively managing this by monitoring high-risk areas more closely, engage with students to understand underlying reasons for these behaviours, and implement clear expectations
Facility for pupils and safe space who would otherwise leave the building or disengage
Create youth groups to address ongoing low-level issues in school.
Create after school clubs to improve engagement at school
Community Presence: Patrolling/walking the school building at break and lunch time, engaging with pupils and being proactive around issues arising. Maintain a presence and embolden a sense of community at lunchtime, choosing to flex between all three areas (Glenwood Shops, Newcastle, Leslie)
Mental and Social support
Work closely with wider support team, including the 2 x PT Targeted Supports, PSO and Family Worker
Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme
