Target is an award-winning performance marketing and eCommerce growth agency headquartered in Penzance, Cornwall. We help the UK's hungriest challenger brands (including MuscleFood, Years.com and Elbow Grease) to punch above their weight by unlocking more predictable and profitable growth with Paid Media, SEO & Creative.

Over the past 12 months, Target has experienced record growth, moved into a state of the art office complete with a small gym and honed its processes and proposition. With a strong pipeline, the business is in a secure position to begin scaling up and fulfil its mission of building the next generation of category leading brands.

Overview

As SEO Manager you will join Target with a minimum of 2 years of search engine optimisation experience - gained in-house, freelance or from another agency.

70% of your time will be focused on researching, writing, implementing and measuring organic search strategies for key eCommerce clients; while the remaining 30% will be department building (e.g. refining processes, building a team and shaping the agency's GEO/AIO offering)

We seek to appoint someone with the development potential to grow into our Head of SEO over the coming 18 months, so an appetite for soaking up knowledge and a growth mindset it essential.

Key Duties

Analysing data in Google Search Console, GA, SEM Rush & AhRefs to ensure that strategies are meeting agreed KPIs. Creating detailed SEO audits and turning your findings into growth-focused, measurable strategies for our clients Overseeing the execution of those strategies through DPR, copywriting and technical experts, with an openness to support on execution if you experience/skillset allows Communicating your wins/challenges to your line manager and proactively 'managing up' with key stakeholders. Helping to develop a GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) proposition, by helping brands to optimise LLMs and become more visible on platforms such as ChatGPT. Building an SEO team (we hope that this person will evolve to become the 'Head of' department) by hiring, mentoring existing team members and evolving the SEO service offering. Managing our brand partner relationships, and becoming the go-to for any and all questions on your partners' technical, digital PR and content questions. Supporting the leadership team with new business pitches and proposals.

What we need from you

A thorough understanding of the latest in SEO best practices, Google Core Updates and algorithm changes. A good understanding of how technical, on-site, digital PR and content can work together to improve organic performance. Examples of how your work has improved a brand's organic and commercial performance. Experience in working with Google Search Console & Google Analytics to extract insights and opportunities. An ability to communicate complex SEO concepts and ideas into layman's terms. Excitement and optimism about what the opportunities and additional value that AI can bring our clients Strong project management experience with an ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines and be accountable to KPIs.
