Seo Manager

Wakefield, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The role

We're looking for a data-driven SEO Executive to take ownership of organic growth for our agency. Your primary focus will be improving our own search visibility, authority, and lead generation through content, optimisation, and digital PR. You'll work closely with our development team on technical SEO and may occasionally support select client or internal projects as our SEO offering evolves.

About Us

We're a development-led digital agency built on craftsmanship, quality and doing things properly. We create high-performing digital products and websites with a deep technical foundation. We're now investing in our SEO capability to strengthen our own growth engine and build a roadmap for how SEO could scale into a service offering for the right clients in the future. If you're excited to shape and mature an SEO function within a dev-first environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

Plan and produce SEO-optimised web pages, articles, thought-leadership guides, comparison pages, FAQs, hub/cluster content, and landing pages aligned to search intent and lead-gen goals.

Develop data-led stories, industry commentary, and angles that earn brand coverage; build media lists, run outreach, and secure relevant, high-authority backlinks to build domain authority.

Conduct keyword mapping, optimise titles/meta, drive internal linking, recommend schema markup, improve content structure, and refine UX copy to enhance CTR, engagement and conversions.

Partner with our developers to support crawls, indexation, Core Web Vitals, redirects, canonicals, and site hygiene - embedding SEO into our technical processes and releases.

Prioritise intent-led terms relevant to our services, audiences and verticals; build content supporting awareness, consideration, and conversion stages; expand our topical authority.

Track rankings, organic traffic, leads/conversions from organic, and link performance; provide weekly/monthly insights with clear actions and next steps.

Monitor competitor content, positioning, and keyword gaps; identify opportunities to differentiate and areas to win visibility and authority.

What you'll bring

1-3+ years hands-on SEO experience (in-house or agency). Strong SEO-led copywriting skills with the ability to write clear, authoritative content. Experience running digital PR or link-building campaigns with measurable results. Confident with keyword research, content mapping, and internal linking structures. Working knowledge of technical SEO (crawling, indexation, CWV) and how to brief dev/UX. Strong analytical skills and ability to turn performance data into actions. Excellent communication and project ownership skills.

Success looks like

Growth in non-brand and priority keyword rankings for our agency. Increased organic leads and improved conversion from organic sessions. High-quality, relevant backlinks building strong domain authority. Improved CTR and SERP visibility Content that consistently meets search intent and establishes us as a thought-leader.

How to apply

Send your CV, 2-3 content or PR/link building examples you're proud of, and a short note on a ranking you moved significantly (what you did and why it worked).
