We are a boutique basement wine bar & kitchen, based in lively Frith Street, Soho, founded by two Master Sommeliers. The Black Book is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing exceptional guest services. As a Server, you will play a vital role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests while ensuring that all food safety and preparation standards are met.

Duties

Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service throughout their dining experience. Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring that all requests are communicated effectively to the kitchen staff. Serve food and beverages promptly, adhering to food safety guidelines at all times. Upsell menu items and specials to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including tables, utensils, and condiments. Handle payments accurately using basic math skills, ensuring a smooth checkout process for guests. Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient service delivery. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.

Requirements

Previous restaurant experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of hospitality principles. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is essential. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours. Strong guest service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. Ability to upsell menu items effectively while maintaining guest satisfaction. A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
