Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests in a friendly manner, ensuring they feel welcome. Take accurate food and drink orders while providing recommendations and upselling menu items. Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring that all orders are delivered accurately. Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer guest inquiries effectively. Ensure compliance with food safety standards during preparation and service. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any issues that may arise. Manage tables efficiently, ensuring that guests' needs are met throughout their dining experience. Handle payments accurately using basic math skills for cash handling and processing transactions. Maintain cleanliness in the dining area and assist in food preparation as needed.

Requirements

Previous restaurant experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of hospitality principles. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential for maintaining high standards in food handling. Basic culinary skills or kitchen experience would be advantageous for assisting in food preparation tasks. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours. Strong guest service skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and enhance their dining experience. A willingness to learn about menu items and develop upselling techniques to maximise sales opportunities.
