This is an exciting time to be joining the council as we build on an excellent Peer Review last year which described the council as a high-performing organisation that delivers effectively for its residents, with strong sense of pride throughout the organisation. It described an organisation in a robust financial position, which is committed to the ongoing development of its workforce, with personal and professional development being strongly supported.
We are looking for a part CCAB or fully AAT qualified accountant to join our team. With experience of preparing annual budgets and producing regular management accounting information for budget holders, ideally in the public sector, you'll support services to accurately budget and forecast, also closing off year-end accounts and dealing with diverse and complex tasks which are specific to the service(s) the role is responsible for.
You will have the drive and initiative to continually develop and improve the service we provide to our customers.
You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to explain financial matters to non-finance specialists, and the confidence to liaise with all levels of staff including senior management.
You will also have excellent I.T. skills, having substantial experience of using MS Excel for data analysis and the production and presentation of management accounting information for budget holders.
The Council is a great place to work, and we offer a range of benefits and working arrangements to support employees. These include opportunities to learn and develop and to work in an agile way, splitting your time between our Andover office each week with working from home or another suitable location. We offer a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement, free on-site parking, discounted leisure facilities and membership of the local government pension scheme.
