We are recruiting a customer-focused Service Advisor for a well-established independent garage in Bishops Stortford. This is a key front-of-house role that serves as the vital link between customers and the workshop team. You will be responsible for managing customer interactions, coordinating vehicle servicing and repairs, and ensuring a smooth workflow throughout the busy workshop. The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced automotive environment. Working Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:30, you will handle bookings, job management, customer updates, and administrative tasks that keep the garage operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for customers, both in person and over the phone
Book in MOTs, servicing, diagnostics, repairs and general workshop work
Create and manage job cards accurately
Liaise with technicians to ensure smooth workflow within the workshop
Keep customers updated on vehicle progress, costs and timescales
Prepare invoices and take payments
Upsell additional work where appropriate while maintaining excellent customer service
Candidate Profile

Experience & Expertise Required:
Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in an automotive customer service role
Confident using computer systems and booking software
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy workload in a fast-paced environment
