To improve on the level of excellent service we offer to our customers and agents, we have an opportunity within our Service and Calibration department for a Hybrid Service Engineer. We are looking for a resilient and proactive individual who can add value to this function by providing Customers and Agents with Servicing and Calibration solutions of PPT Group associated equipment. If you would enjoy providing a high quality service and support solution to UK & Global customers, then this is the opportunity for you! Your time would be split between attending Customer sites within the UK and the Slinfold workshop; providing support services to our global customer base, or supporting our Operational Teams internally.

You will use our bespoke software platforms, to provide customer support - from either the UK or remotely - as well as the production of certificates to confirm a PPT Group calibration has taken place. On some occasions, you will be based in the Factory, providing support services to our global customer base, or supporting our Operational Teams internally.

Some of the Responsibilities of the role are:



Commits to demonstrate best practice and consistent service / calibration work between all engineers.

Adopt a "right first time" approach to work at all times and to be aware of all job requirements in advance.

Commits to meeting expected timescales and inform customer in advance when these may not be met. Maximise perception of value for money.

Accountable for proactively contributing to job planning when requested to suit business and customer requirements.

Complete Company documentation (timesheets, job sheets, expenses, mileage sheets) fully and accurately and submit in a timely (weekly) manner. Any follow on work required is to be highlighted clearly along with recommendations

Report back any potentially useful intelligence gained from customers which may lead to, or affect, the sale of additional products and services.

Seek and make recommendations on continuous improvements. Proactively contribute to, and seek to improve, technical content of service checklists and similar.

Carry out helpdesk technical support duties as and when requested.

To identify spare parts needed for job and ensure availability

Maintain an accurate, detailed, up to date record of all car stock spare parts and ensure tools and equipment are in excellent condition at all times.

To assist with the stock take of engineer's stores and car stock.

To ensure that all company H&S and QA policies and procedures are followed.

To participate and adhere to working time directives

To resolve technical queries and make use of the skills of other personnel to help solve these queries.

Provide support via telephone to customers and agents as required, responding in a timely professional manner.

All employees will be expected to carry out work within their capability outside of their normal duties. This could include working in, or on behalf of, other departments.

Employment & Educational Background



Experience of servicing technical products, instrumentation or machinery is essential.

Ability and flexibility to travel extensively though out the United Kingdom and Ireland is essential.

Written and spoken foreign language skills desirable but not essential.

Excellent communication skills plus recognised IT competence levels are essential

Educated to HNC level mechanical, electrical and electronic skills or equivalent experience are required

A full clean UK driving licence is essential
