Your Role, Your Impact
As a Service Charge Accountant Team Leader you will manage and oversee service charge accounts for residential and commercial properties, including budgeting, reconciliation, and reporting. This role ensures compliance with regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach and support a team of service charge accountants, ensuring high performance and development.
  • Oversee preparation and maintenance of service charge cost estimates across multiple portfolios.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including service charge accounts and homeowner statements.
  • Manage and oversee the annual audit process, acting as the key liaison with auditors for your team's portfolios.
  • Handle complex queries and support the team in addressing stakeholder concerns.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and service excellence.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current with industry changes and ensure team compliance with updated standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a finance role with team leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of service charge accounting and financial reporting.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (property management software is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
