Due to internal promotion our successful transactional procurement department within NHS Shared Business Services is looking for a Service Delivery Manager. You will manage, lead, develop and motivate the members of one of our Regionalised Transactional Procurement teams whilst providing a best-in-class service to NHS organisations.

Reporting into the Head of Transactional Procurement, you will be responsible for your clients Transactional Procurement process, whilst managing the team, monitoring, and measuring performance, taking action to deliver efficiencies and increase productivity, as well as drive improvements within the procurement process to ensure this runs smoothly for our NHS clients.

It is an exciting time to join the team, which forms part of NHS SBS Integrated Procurement Services department, as we embark on a period of transformation into an enhanced structure with new systems.

This is a hybrid working role with the requirement to attend the Salford office at least once a month.

If you have procurement experience with a passion to improve customer experience or are experienced in managing large teams, perhaps in a call centre or shared service, with a focus on customer satisfaction and process efficiency we want to hear from you!

What you will be doing:

  • Leading and developing the Transactional Procurement team, monitoring performance, and working with team members to drive optimal outputs.
  • Working closely with your line manager, Head of Transactional Procurement, to be a change agent for new systems, structures and processes ensuring successful adoption and minimising customer impact.
  • Providing daily, weekly, and ad-hoc reporting on the performance of Transactional Procurement service delivery, applying a risk management approach, and escalating where required.
  • Leading on Procurement project delivery relating to improvements to the service such as No PO No Pay and Catalogue improvements.
  • Identifying the need for service improvement initiatives as part of day-to-day service management, devising, presenting for approval, and implementing improvement initiatives at pace, as required.
  • Ensuring team compliance and adherence to procurement processes, implementing improvements, and driving efficiency wherever possible and acting as a point of escalation where required.
  • Integrating and building relationships between the Transactional Procurement service and other NHS SBS departments, including Strategic Sourcing, P2P and Finance and Accounting Service Management to maximise service effectiveness for customers.
What you will bring:
  • Extensive staff and service performance monitoring, measurement and reporting skills and experience.
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, from operational teams to board members.
  • Customer service excellence skills and experience.
  • Stakeholder and relationship management skills with the ability to manage and resolve difficult situations.
  • IT literate.
It would be great if you had:
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the procurement / purchase-to-pay process
  • Change management skills and experience
