Reporting to the Lead Service Design and Transition Manager, as a Service Design Specialist, you will play an important role in the Service Delivery Lifecycle within GFIT Application Services function by utilising best-practice assessment, analysis and design techniques to create or amend BAU support processes which will support new or changing services delivered through the IT Portfolio of change.
You will be responsible for the delivery of Service Design activities across larger or complex projects and programmes. This includes working with suppliers and service teams to ensure compliance with the service design process. You will ensure processes are fit for purpose and any risks and issues are documented, effectively communicated and accepted prior to Transitioning into BAU support..
What you'll be doing:
Designing and delivering service support processes aligned with best practice and strategic goals
Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure service design compliance
Evaluating cost and resource impacts to BAU teams and communicating uplift requirements
Producing service support artefacts including procedures, tooling and knowledge documentation
Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective delivery
Contributing to the GFIT Service Catalogue throughout the service lifecycle
Maintaining and improving the Service Design Framework, policies and procedures
Supporting the implementation of the Service Design and Transition Roadmap
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
Demonstrable experience in IT Service Design or Transition within a regulated environment
Strong understanding of ITSM platforms, Agile, Waterfall and SDLC methodologies
ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience (Service Design/Transition desirable)
IT Operations experience
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
