Following the recent launch of our new Service Centre in Matlock, we're now looking for a hands-on, customer-focused
Service Engineer
to join our expanding operations team.
About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding position ideal for someone with a mechanical or electrical background who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and making a real difference to customers' lives.
You'll be responsible for the service, repair, and occasional installation of mobility equipment such as scooters, powerchairs, riser recliners, and hospital beds--both in our Matlock workshop and on-site in customers' homes. You'll also receive full training to support stairlift installation and maintenance. A company van will be provided for use during working hours.
Key Responsibilities
Service, repair and maintain mobility scooters, powerchairs, and riser recliner chairs
Install and maintain stairlifts (full training provided)
Deliver, install, and demonstrate hospital beds and specialist seating
Maintain a clean, well-organised and safe working environment
Liaise with suppliers and assist with parts ordering and stock control
Accurately complete job sheets and service records
Represent the company with professionalism and a positive attitude at all times
About You
We're looking for someone who is not only technically skilled but also friendly, reliable, and keen to grow with the business.
Essential:
Experience in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
Self-motivated and confident working independently
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Full, clean UK driving licence
No unspent criminal convictions
Desirable:
NVQ, City & Guilds or similar engineering qualification
Previous experience in the mobility, healthcare or assistive technology sector
