Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Service Engineer
to carry out
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
, servicing, and minor repairs on
loading bay equipment
and
industrial doors
across various commercial and industrial client sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, experience in the field, and a customer-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform
PPM and servicing
on a range of
loading bay equipment
, including dock levellers, dock shelters, scissor lifts, wheel restraints, and loading bay accessories.
Service and maintain
industrial doors
, including roller shutters, sectional doors, high-speed doors, and fire shutters.
Conduct
safety inspections
,
functional tests
, and report on equipment condition and compliance.
Identify and carry out
minor repairs
during service visits, escalating major issues where necessary.
Complete and submit
service reports
, job sheets, and compliance documentation accurately and promptly.
Maintain a high standard of
health & safety
on site, ensuring all work is carried out in line with industry regulations.
Liaise with customers professionally, providing clear explanations of work completed and any follow-up actions required.
Keep service vehicle and equipment clean, stocked, and in good working order.
Work flexibly to accommodate emergency call-outs or overtime as required.
Requirements:
Essential:
Proven experience in servicing loading bay equipment and/or industrial doors.
Desirable:
Relevant certifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance.
IPAF, PASMA, or equivalent access equipment training.
CSCS card or equivalent health & safety accreditation.
Knowledge of electrical control systems or automation.
