Service Engineer - Lifting Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. As a Service Engineer specialising in lifting equipment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our clients' lifting operations. This position requires a deep understanding of lifting equipment, hydraulic systems, and relevant safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Installation:

Lead and execute the installation of various lifting equipment, including but not limited to cranes, hoists, lifts, and winches. Ensure all installations meet industry standards and client specifications.

Service and Maintenance:

Perform regular servicing and maintenance on a wide range of lifting equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

LOLER Testing:

Conduct thorough examinations and tests in accordance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER). Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of all inspections and tests performed.

Hydraulic Systems:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems associated with lifting equipment. This includes working with hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, and control systems.

Client Communication:

Interact professionally with clients, providing clear explanations of work performed, recommendations for future maintenance, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, including service reports, inspection certificates, and maintenance logs.

Emergency Response:

Be available for emergency call-outs and rapid response to critical equipment failures, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.

Team Collaboration:

Work effectively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Service Engineer in the lifting equipment industry Mechanically Qualified In-depth knowledge of various types of lifting equipment and their operational principles Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and their application in lifting equipment Certified to perform LOLER inspections and thorough examinations (Desirable) 18th Edition (Desirable) Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills Clean Driving licence
