Service & Repair Engineer (Air Source Heat Pumps) - Manchester



Location:

Manchester and surrounding areas (field-based)

Salary:

40,000-45,000 + project completion bonus

Contract:

Permanent, full-time

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts

About the Role



We're looking for an experienced Service & Repair Engineer to join our growing team on a permanent, full-time basis. You'll be responsible for servicing, fault-finding, diagnosing, and repairing air source heat pumps (ASHP) from a range of manufacturers. You'll also conduct site surveys and occasionally supervise installation teams. This is a field-based role covering Manchester and nearby areas.

Key Responsibilities



Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and warranty work on ASHP systems. Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, refrigerant, control, and hydraulic systems. Complete accurate service reports, test certificates, and job documentation. Conduct site surveys to assess existing systems and prepare for repairs or installations. Supervise and coordinate installation teams when required, ensuring quality and safety. Liaise with project managers, customers, and subcontractors to provide updates and technical feedback. Maintain company vehicle, tools, and stock to a high standard. Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Person Specification



Essential:



Proven experience servicing and repairing ASHP systems (multi-manufacturer experience preferred). Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across electrical and mechanical systems. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Competent with mobile reporting tools and paperwork.

Desirable:



Relevant heating, F-Gas, refrigeration, or electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, F-Gas). Experience with commissioning and project handover. Health & Safety qualifications (CSCS, SMSTS, IOSH) or willingness to obtain them.
