Are you passionate about engineering and committed to safety? We are seeking a skilled and motivated

Service Technician

to become part of our dynamic team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the carrying out of planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms to on portfolio lift/escalator equipment and be responsible for completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open non-conformity to current legislation or standards. They will also oversee improvement of equipment condition to improve the time between technical call-backs and reduce lift equipment downtime. Works will also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components This is a permanent and full time role.

What you'll be Doing:




Performing planned preventative maintenance on a portfolio of lift and escalator equipment, ensuring compliance with contract terms and safety standards. Conducting Schindler safety inspections and resolve any non-conformities in line with current legislation and company policies. Improving equipment reliability by reducing call-backs and minimizing downtime through effective maintenance and minor repairs. Replacing components as part of the equipment lifecycle and carry out minor repairs as needed. Participating in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours maintenance and repair coverage. Routinely servicing and adjusting lift and escalator systems, adhering to approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc.). Diagnosing faults and breakdowns, ensuring proper functioning by checking speed, motor performance, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies. Completing service reports and documentation accurately after inspections and repairs. Applying advanced fault-finding and diagnostic skills, utilizing technical manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service. Attending site surveys and ongoing training to stay current with the latest technical knowledge and industry practices. Promoting and maintaining high standards of safety and environmental compliance, setting an example for safe behavior. Supporting company safety initiatives by monitoring systems under your control and implementing improvements where required.

What We're looking For:




Experience in lift/escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs preferred. Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in lift/escalator maintenance. Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red. Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, with experience on multi-brand equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Self-motivated and able to work independently with a flexible approach. Strong communication skills with clients, service leaders, and inspectors. Good manual dexterity for operating tools and recording information; ability to lift and use hands, arms, and feet repetitively. Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostic abilities. Solid administrative skills and punctuality. Full UK driving license required.
