The Service Tooling team at Defra within Digital, Data Technology and Security (DDTS) function is looking for a ServiceNow Data Manager to join our team.
This role is key to managing and maintaining the ServiceNow platform, supporting Defra's goals to protect the environment, back the UK's food and farming industries, and boost the rural economy.
As part of the Service Tooling team, you'll oversee data operations on the platform, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and security. Using your data expertise, you'll help ensure ServiceNow functions effectively and supports business needs across the organisation. You will play a key role in shaping how data flows through our systems and how it supports decision making at all level.

Responsibilities
Oversee and manage data operations within the ServiceNow platform, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security in alignment with ITIL and platform best practices.
Develop and implement data management strategy, policies, and procedures ensuring they are clearly defined, documented and adhered to.
Ensure compliance with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and the DPIA (Data Protection Impact Assessment) for the platform is up to date and approved, in liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the CMDB team, to understand data requirements and provide data solutions.
Manage and maintain the Foundation data tables within ServiceNow and drive the automation of Foundation data management tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Ensure that data management tools are integrated with other platforms and processes.
Monitor data quality and perform regular data audits to identify and resolve data issues.
Design and maintain data models, workflows, and reports within ServiceNow.
Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements.
Provide regular reports and dashboards to senior management on the status of Data Management activities. Provide training and support to users on data management best practices and ServiceNow functionalities.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Data Management process. Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data management and ServiceNow.
Skills and Experience
Experience as a Data Manager or in a similar role, with a focus on the ServiceNow platform and data architecture.
Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and data quality.
Proficiency in ServiceNow, including the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), data modelling, workflows, and reporting.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
