We are looking to employ a sessional Psychologist in an exciting role, which is an opportunity to provide psychological therapy to patients receiving outpatient treatment within our Private therapy services.
Hours for this sessional role are flexible and will be scheduled according to the centre's requirements. While specific hours may vary depending on demand, we aim to provide clarity as service needs become clearer. This approach ensures the centre can respond effectively to changing demands.
You'll be working across two excellent locations: Bristol Park Clinic, conveniently located near Bradley Stoke and Patchway with easy access via the M4, M5, and Almondsbury Interchange, and Bristol Hospital, a beautiful Grade II listed building just off the M32. The hospital provides free parking and offers 77 beds across seven wards, with services that include Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU), eating disorder treatment, acute care, rehabilitation, and recovery.
What you'll be doing
Join a compassionate, forward-thinking team dedicated to helping every patient build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Psychologist, you'll play a pivotal role in each patient's recovery journey, providing evidence-based care and support that truly makes a difference.
In this role, you will:Deliver expert psychological care - conducting in-depth assessments to create tailored, evidence-based treatment plans.
Support patients every step of the way - delivering therapeutic interventions and tracking progress to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Make informed clinical decisions - managing all aspects of patient care from planning to review, with full autonomy and professional trust.
Use proven tools and methods - applying validated assessments to gain a full picture of each patient's needs and potential risks.
Promote safety and wellbeing - identifying risks early and developing strategies to create a secure, supportive environment.
This is a hybrid role, combining face-to-face sessions and virtual appointments across our Bristol Hospital and Park Clinic outpatient sites.
What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
We're looking for someone with at least two years of post-qualification experience, who can demonstrate a strong clinical background in their chosen specialty. You'll bring sound clinical judgment, clear and compassionate communication, and the ability to maintain concise and accurate clinical notes using digital platforms. Confidence in attending risk management meetings and a commitment to high standards of clinical governance are also important.
Accreditation with a recognised professional body such as HCPC, UKCP, BABCP, BACP, NCPS, BPC, ACAT, or ACP is essential, though we can consider candidates who are working toward accreditation on a case-by-case basis.
