Wimbledon Park Clinic is looking to recruit qualified sessional EMDR and Schema therapists to join their highly competent and skilled outpatient therapy team, offering a minimum of five hours availability per week that can be spread out across the week and is dependent upon the needs of the service.
Hours for this sessional role are flexible and will be scheduled according to the centre's requirements. While specific hours may vary depending on demand, we aim to provide clarity as service needs become clearer. This approach ensures the centre can respond effectively to changing demands.
Located within very close proximity to Wimbledon Park Tube Station and other types of public transport, Wimbledon Park Clinic is a homely, warm, and inviting wellbeing clinic offering a range of 1:1 and group therapies. The team is made up of caring and compassionate therapy and admin staff that you will be part of demonstrating commitment to patient wellbeing. We take a holistic and personalised approach to patient care, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling life. The clinic has close connections with Priory Hospital in Roehampton, receiving referrals from there as well as local GPs and clients themselves.
EMDR therapy is primarily used to treat trauma and PTSD though can also be used to help with a range of mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, addictions, behavioural difficulties, relationship issues. It is intended to help an individual process negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic memories that seem to be stuck and gain recovery.
Schema therapy focuses on identifying and modifying early maladaptive schemas (self-defeating emotional and cognitive patterns) and schema modes (moment-to-moment emotional states) thought to underlie chronic psychological disorders.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As Sessional Therapist you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.Deliver individual therapy sessions using EMDR and Schema Therapy approaches for clients presenting with complex trauma, personality difficulties, or long-standing emotional issues.
Collaborate with the wider clinical team to contribute to case formulation, treatment planning, and progress reviews.
Maintain up-to-date clinical records, risk assessments, and outcome measures in line with service policies and regulatory standards.
Attend clinical supervision and team meetings as required, contributing to a supportive and reflective therapeutic environment.
Work flexibly and ethically in line with professional guidelines (e.g., HCPC, BABCP, UKCP, BACP).

What you'll bring to the role

Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, UKCP, BABCP, or BACP) is required, along with strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, you must be able to offer strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and able to adhere to good organisational clinical governance; which will include the use of digital platforms, concise clinical notes and attending risk management meetings as required.For EMDR therapists, the hourly rate is 65 for unaccredited and 75 for accredited.
For Schema therapists, the hourly rate is 55 for unaccredited and 65 for accredited.
