This vacancy is an opportunity to work within the Learning for Independence curriculum of the Leicestershire Adult Learning Service (GoLearn!) as a Sessional Tutor. The Learning for Independence curriculum specifically caters for adults with learning difficulties.
Courses are delivered in a wide range of subjects, we are specifically looking for candidates with skills/experience in delivering art/craft related subjects. The successful candidate will be able to confidently deliver and adapt their teaching and learning styles to meet the needs of all learners.
All courses follow the principles of RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement), every learner has an individual learning plan and the accredited courses we deliver are accredited by AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group. Class sizes are between 8-12 learners and each group benefits from a dedicated Learning Support Assistant.
The successful candidate will be working with diverse groups of learners in a vibrant and engaging learning environment.
This is a Sessional Tutor role and will be paid one month in arrears on submission of a pay claim at the end of each month. The hours indicated are paid at an hourly rate which includes provision for face-to-face teaching time and non-contact preparation/training time, which will be outlined in a working pattern letter.
An enhanced DBS check will be required as part of the pre-employment checks.
About you - please ensure that you include in your application for this role details of:
Level 3 or above nationally recognised teaching qualification (if you do not yet hold a Level 5 teaching qualification, you must provide evidence that you will gain this within the first two years of employment)
Level 2 or above qualification in both English and maths
Competence in the use of digital skills, including emails, web-based applications, word processing and digital teaching resources
Experience in delivering adult learning
Experience of working with learners who have moderate/severe learning disabilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of the principles of safeguarding
