SESSIONAL YOUTH WORKERS AND MENTORS



North Solihull-based | Flexible hours - day and evening sessions available | Freelance - 15 per hour

Urban Heard

are a vibrant, forward-thinking charity working hard across North Solihull with young people 11-17.

We support young people to develop into a better version of themselves, helping them to find inspiration, support and guidance for life which transcends any restrictions placed on them by their experiences.

We're looking for

Sessional Youth Workers and Mentors

to join our team at our dedicated Youth Centre in Solihull. We offer a wide range of engaging activities including

sports, arts, media and social action campaigning

, and we are proud partners in the

Connected Care Network

, supporting young people through mentoring referrals.

What You'll Do



Be a

trusted adult

and first point of contact for young people. Deliver inspiring and engaging youth sessions with

fun, empathy, and purpose

. Provide support and guidance to young people facing challenges in their lives. Work flexibly and

adapt to the needs of our community

. Maintain a strong focus on

safeguarding

, ensuring young people's wellbeing is always a priority. Communicate confidently with parents, carers, and colleagues. Support us in delivering a

professional, caring and inclusive service

.

What We're Looking For



Experience or qualifications

in youth work or mentoring. A

positive, can-do attitude

and genuine commitment to supporting young people.

Time management skills

and reliability - you show up ready to make a difference. Confidence in dealing with a wide range of people, including families and professionals. Willingness to undergo an

Enhanced DBS check

, provide references, and evidence your

right to work in the UK

. A

full UK driving licence

is desirable for mentoring roles, which may take place across Solihull.
