Freelance Set Builder/Carpenter Wanted

We're on the lookout for a talented and reliable

freelance set builder/carpenter

to join our team on an ongoing basis. You'll be working across a range of exciting projects, both at our warehouse and on-site at event and production locations.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, freelance role suited to someone with a strong background in construction, carpentry or scenic building. You'll be working on a variety of builds - from custom staging and DJ booths to branded environments and event installations. We're looking for someone who's practical, detail-focused, and confident working both solo and as part of a wider production team.

Key Responsibilities

Build, repair and maintain event structures, set pieces, staging, and other custom installations. Interpret technical drawings, sketches and specifications accurately. Operate a range of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and build quality. Collaborate with project managers, designers and crew to meet deadlines and creative briefs. Help maintain an organised, tidy workspace in the warehouse and on-site. Occasionally assist with loading/unloading and setup/derig tasks as part of wider event crew.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in carpentry, scenic construction, or set building. Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safe working practices. Comfortable reading drawings and working from technical briefs. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Physically fit and happy to get stuck in with manual work. Flexible, dependable, and a good communicator. A driving licence is a bonus but not essential.
