Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Set Designer to join our small but dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling and the ability to bring concepts to life through innovative set designs. This role involves collaborating closely with directors, other creative professionals and a team of scare actors/actresses to create a brand new live immersive Halloween horror attraction at a versatile venue situated in the heart of The Royal Docks.

Responsibilities

Develop and design sets for the event. Create detailed sketches and digital designs to communicate set concepts effectively. Utilise software such as Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite to produce high-quality visual representations of the set. Collaborate with the Directors and production team to ensure designs align with the overall vision of the project. Manage the construction process by coordinating with carpenters, painters, and other craftsmen. Oversee set installation and make necessary adjustments during rehearsals or operational nights. Maintain an organised library of design resources, including photographs and reference materials.

Requirements

Proven experience in set design or a related field is preferred. Proficient in digital design tools such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, and Sketchup. Strong sketching skills to convey ideas visually. Knowledge of graphic design principles and photography is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. A portfolio showcasing previous work in set design or related projects.
