Summary

We are looking for a Sewing Room Assistant to join our busy Customisation team in Altens, Aberdeen.

This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, from 20 hours a week to 42.5 hours per week. Please advise on your application what your weekly working hours preference is.

The Customisation team deliver high quality corporate branded PPE to our customers; with each garment carefully embroidered or heat-sealed to individual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Applying client logos using heat-sealing machine to various types of PPE garments Setting up and threading embroidery machine Correct positioning of embroidery hoops on garments for embroidery machining process Follow Sewing Room job order priorities in line with client deadlines Folding garments and packing into individual delivery packaging Be aware of Sewing Room stock levels and advise when supplies need to be ordered Good housekeeping - maintain a tidy, clean and organised Sewing Room environment Operate Sewing Room equipment safely and effectively Contribute to a positive team environment Support the team with general Sewing Room duties as required

Experience

Previous embroidery, sewing room or heat-sealing experience preferred, however full training will be given Garment alterations experience preferred Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced, noisy environment Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels Ability to work as part of a team helping colleagues as required Good organisational skills and attention to detail High level of physical fitness, ability to stand for long periods of time, manual handling, bending, ability to lift heavy items
