Job Description

We are looking for a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Advisor to join our Highways team based in Glastonbury. In this role, you will take the lead in managing and supporting all SHE activities across our Somerset contract, providing guidance mentorship and assurance.

Location: Glastonbury, Somerset - travel to the office required with some remote working available
Contract: Permanent Fulltime 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 + 5.9k annual car allowance + private healthcare + benefits
Responsibilities
As a SHE Advisor, you will ensure that the local team and supply chain partners take a consistent approach to safety, health and environmental management across Somerset. You'll be responsible for implementing the SHE strategy and ensuring full compliance with all legal obligations, client requirements and Kier Group's Safety Health and Environmental Management System standards.
Your day to day will include:

• Manage and coordinate monthly SHE meetings with Kier staff, client teams and supply chain partners
• Leading and participating in regular meetings with operational staff, supply chain partners, clients and the contract management team
• Reviewing Construction Phase Plans (including supply chain risk assessments and method statements)
• Maintain and manage the companies ISO 45001 and 14001 accreditations
• Advise the management team on incidents and injuries, lead incident investigations to determine and eliminate the root cause

What are we looking for?
This role of SHE Advisor is great if you have:

• Experience in a similar role
• Working understanding of SHE legislation and a working knowledge of ISO: 9001 ISO: 14001 & ISO: 45001
• Proven experience & knowledge of temporary traffic management and premises/facilities management
