Our portfolio includes a large variety of products including subcontract sheet metal and general light fabrication, garden architectural structures, gates, railings, signage, artwork and bespoke commissions for both domestic and commercial clients.
We particularly excel in complex sheet metal and fabricated parts in a wide variety of materials, with specialist requirements and often tight deadlines, providing a complete and personalised service to clients of all sizes, including collaborative work on new products and designs.
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a CAD design engineer to join our office team, to be part of the key linkage between our clients ideas/outline briefs and our fabrication engineering team on our more advanced projects.
Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings based on client requirements
Collaborate with clients and the fabrication team to develop design concepts
Review and modify existing CAD designs to meet specifications
Ensure accuracy and completeness of CAD models and drawings
Conduct design reviews and provide feedback for improvement
Maintain organized files and documentation of parts
Produce quotations from drawings and process orders to shop floor production
Experience:
Proven experience as a CAD Designer in the sheet metal and fabrication sector
Proficient in using CAD software (Autodesk Fusion 360 or similar)
Strong knowledge of engineering principles and design standards, with an informed hands on understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes to ensure resulting designs are practically viable and optimised for ease of production
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
Strong problem solving skills and ability to think critically
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members especially fabrication engineers

Salary is negotiable and highly dependent on experience.
