is offering a rare chance to join their dynamic team and help shape the future of their growing livestock enterprise. They're a progressive farm with deep roots in the Northamptonshire countryside, managing owned, rented, and contract land with care and ambition.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll take the lead in their evolving sheep enterprise, which is transitioning to a fully outdoor lambing system. They currently lamb 900 NZ Romneys in April, with plans to expand. You'll also manage contract shepherding for a neighbouring estate, overseeing 900 North Country Mule ewe lambs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Outdoor lambing and rotational/block grazing
Grassland management and temporary fencing (Rappa system)
Handling and infrastructure maintenance
Supporting their herd of 65 Stabiliser suckler cows
Using Shearwell MyFarmWorks software for stock recording
Conducting in-house worm counting

WHO THEY'RE LOOKING FOR
This is not a first shepherding job. They're seeking someone with solid experience, a keen eye for detail, and ideally at least one working dog. You should be confident working independently and as part of a team, especially during lambing and seasonal tasks like shearing.
