Overview




An established civils and reinstatement contractor is seeking a proactive SHEQ Advisor to support its operations in Norfolk, working on high-security infrastructure projects. This role will be primarily based at one key site but may involve travel to other locations within the group. The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving compliance, promoting a positive safety culture, and ensuring the highest standards in health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ).

Key Responsibilities



Conduct regular site audits and inspections, ensuring SHEQ compliance across operations. Advise teams and management on site-specific safety and environmental practices. Act as Permit Controller, ensuring all work permits and inspections are accurately issued and recorded. Investigate incidents, near misses and accidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Deliver and coordinate training on SHEQ topics, ensuring staff are competent and informed. Maintain and report on SHEQ performance metrics, recommending improvements where necessary. Support the preparation and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).

Candidate Profile



Essential:



NEBOSH or IOSH qualified (or working towards) SMSTS (Units 1-3) certification Experience within utilities, construction or civils environments Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations Confident in incident investigation and SHEQ reporting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Physically fit and comfortable working in site environments

Desirable:



Experience supporting high-security or critical infrastructure projects Ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organisation
