As a SHEQ Advisor at Tru7 Group, you will play a vital role in supporting our Tru Safety culture, working with the SHEQ Team and Chief Risk Officer in ensuring Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards across our wide range of construction and contracting activities.
This is a predominantly a site-based role, requiring regular travel across East Anglia and, when necessary, to projects across the UK. You will work closely with site teams, customers, clients, and internal departments to embed a strong SHEQ culture and ensure best practices are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Chief Risk Officer in ensuring SHEQ compliance across all projects and business areas
Conduct regular site visits
Lead and support incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up actions
Advise and assist site teams in identifying health and safety risks, developing mitigation plans, and ensuring safe systems of work
Promote a proactive safety-first culture through engagement, education, and communication
Monitor compliance with ISO standards, legislation, and internal policies
Provide training, toolbox talks, and SHEQ inductions for site teams and subcontractors
Maintain accurate SHEQ documentation, logs, and reports within the business systems
Liaise effectively with clients, customers, and senior management to ensure expectations are met and exceeded
Assist in the continuous improvement of SHEQ policies, procedures, and performance across the Group
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience working within the UK construction industry in a SHEQ role
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, CDM regulations, and best practices in construction
Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence people at all levels
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Flexible to travel to sites across East Anglia and occasionally the wider UK
Desirable:
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or working towards)
Knowledge of transport and contracting operations
Experience working in or with demolition and earthworks projects
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
Full UK driving licence
