Roles and Responsibilities:



Strategic Leadership

:


Develop and oversee the implementation of the company's health and safety strategy aligned with business objectives. Develop and oversee the implementation of the SHEQ policies, and procedures. Establish key health and safety performance metrics and lead initiatives to improve performance across construction and engineering sites. Serve as the primary advisor to executive management on health and safety matters, and compliance matters including new legislation and best practices. Lead the QUENSH department and ensure team members are aligned to the overall strategy for health and safety and compliance across the business.

Policy Development



Create, update, and enforce company-wide health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with local and overseas regulations. Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, ensuring proactive compliance with evolving laws Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews of current HSE and compliance policies, making adjustments where necessary to remain compliant with new regulations and industry advancements. Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to health and safety procedures, conducting regular safety briefings and drills.

Risk Management- H&S

:


Lead risk assessments and hazard identification activities, particularly in high-risk environments such as construction sites, heavy machinery use, and structural engineering tasks. Implement preventive measures and controls for minimizing occupational risks and enhancing safety outcomes. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and overseeing corrective and preventive actions.

Quality



Manage the Quality process, liaising with external parties including auditors, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers. Take appropriate action to ensure that the Group retains the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 accreditations.

Collaboration & Communication

:


Work closely with site managers, engineers, project managers, and contractors to address and resolve safety concerns in real-time. Serve as the liaison between the company and regulatory authorities, insurance companies, and industry safety boards. Prepare and present regular safety reports and compliance reports to the executive team, identifying trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Incident Management & Reporting

:


Develop and oversee incident reporting and investigation processes to ensure timely, thorough, and accurate documentation. Work with legal and HR departments to manage workers' compensation claims, ensuring they are handled efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws. Track and analyse safety data to identify patterns and recommend initiatives to reduce injury rates.

Environmental Compliance

:


Oversee environmental health and safety compliance, particularly regarding waste disposal, environmental permitting, and emissions control on construction and engineering sites. Ensure that projects meet sustainability standards and comply with environmental regulations.

Budgeting & Resource Allocation

:


Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources to safety equipment, training, and technology solutions. Lead the procurement of safety equipment and ensure its proper use and maintenance across all sites.
