Job Description

Connell Brothers are seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join our team based in our Headquarters in Salford.

Reporting to the company senior management team, you will assist in providing advice from site to senior management level and promoting a positive culture towards Safety, Health, Environment and Quality throughout the business. You'll be an integral team member, helping to develop and continuously monitor our integrated management systems and procedures, whilst also ensuring they are consistently adhered to by each of the site teams.

The candidate must be a hardworking individual, possessing high levels of initiative, and be readily available to adapt to different tasks. They must be fluent in English.

Role Responsibilities



Leading the SHEQ function of the business Responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of all areas of the company's HSQE Integrated Management Systems Creating your own policies and procedures, ensuring they are implemented by liaising with site teams to ensure compliance. Liaising with third parties where required, including external auditors in reference to ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001. Conducting internal audits and ensuring continuous improvement in quality management systems Support in ensuring subcontractor compliance with Health & Safety Assisting with External Audits Creation and rollout of any business-wide Health & Safety campaigns Ensure staff receive adequate assistance & support to enable them to implement Health & Safety effectively Ensure all works carried out comply with all current HSQE legislation and company management systems and policies whilst providing visible HSQE leadership. Conduct regular site audits to ensure compliance with HSQE standards. Investigation, monitoring and reporting of any incidents or accidents Completing company inductions for new staff at Head Office Responsible for management of the training matrix. Implementation of preventative actions to reduce/remove risk Reporting to the MD concerning Environmental, Health & Safety, Sub-Contractor performance and training requirements for staff Managing and reporting on Social Value. Supporting the Technical team with Construction Phase Plans, RAMs, Environmental Plans, Site Waste Management Plans & site drawings etc. Maintaining accreditations and memberships with the relevant SHEQ bodies. Contribute Health & Safety information to tenders and proposals Support the Commercial Team with bid submissions where required Keeping up to date with Health & Safety law and any other regulatory changes Driving continual improvement General Office Duties

Experience



SHEQ Manager experience within the demolition or construction industry (at least 3 years) Strong understanding of UK health, safety, environmental, and ESG legislation Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Word / Project Manager etc (essential) Temporary Works Experience (TWC desirable) Lifting Appointed Person (desirable) NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma or equivalent Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards Membership of a professional body e.g. Institution of Demolition Engineers (desirable)
Salary - Commensurate with experience
