Plessey is looking for an Equipment Engineer to support our wafer-level test and coring equipment in a cutting-edge micro-LED R&D environment.
In this role, you will help maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the equipment that tests and cores wafers, ensuring it runs reliably and efficiently. Your work will directly support high-quality wafer testing and R&D activities in our micro-LED manufacturing.
These roles will be based in a clean-room environment, and will be on a rotating shift pattern of 4 on, 4 off. These will consist of 2 day shifts (7am - 7pm) and 2 night shifts (7pm - 7am).
Key Responsibilities
Support maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wafer probers and test equipment
Monitor equipment performance and report issues to improve uptime, throughput, and quality
Support equipment qualification, evaluation, and scheduled maintenance activities
Maintain equipment documentation and follow standard operating procedures
Follow quality and safety procedures for all equipment tasks
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical apprenticeship
Minimum 3 years' experience with maintenance, repair, and fault-finding on electrical, electronic or mechanical equipment
Proven troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving capability
Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems and ability to apply knowledge to new equipment types
Strong team working skills and a highly motivated, organised approach with a "can-do" attitude
