Job Description

We are looking for a reliable, committed, friendly with "can do" attitude person with bar/restaurant experience for a busy and fast growing gastropub in Alton.

We serve homemade fresh food, wines, spirits, good quality lagers and ales and some basic cocktails. We are known for best cooked food in the area. Also doing take away service on weekends and ad hoc breakfasts for our guests staying at our two letting rooms.

As a Shift Leader you will supervise the other bar/restaurant members of staff in absence of the manager or team leader, you will be able to communicate quickly with the kitchen, deal with customers' complaints, making sure they leave happy, looking after the beer cellar and stock and report directly to the managers. You will also need to make sure the tasks given by the managers are completed before the deadline.

Other duties include: serving drinks and food, taking orders and reservations, interacting with guests, making sure tables are clean and sanitised, checking guests in is done correctly.

Cellar knowledge is a plus however appropriate training will be given for the right candidate. Also, as a Shift Leader you will need to make sure all the deliveries are checked and put away in designated areas, daily cleaning tasks done as scheduled.

Flexible availability in weekdays and weekends is required.

Above position would be ideal for a person with a previous Shift or Team Leader experience or for someone with an extensive bar/restaurant experience looking to step up and progress in a hospitality industry.

Working hours: around 35/40 per week. This could change according to business needs.

The starting hourly rate: 13.50 per hour plus tips, holiday pay, performance bonus and pension scheme. Training will be provided for the right candidate but you must prove your previous experience in the industry.
