We are seeking a proactive and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Shift Leader will play a vital part in maintaining smooth workflow during their shift and supporting the overall success of the establishment.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate team activities during assigned shifts to ensure efficient service delivery.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
Manage staff scheduling, assign tasks, and monitor performance to foster a productive team environment.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of operation.
Assist in training new team members on operational procedures, customer service, and safety protocols.
Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, aiming for high levels of satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and service areas throughout the shift.
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and liaising with suppliers when necessary.
Uphold company policies related to hospitality, food production, and health & safety.
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations within a restaurant or hotel setting.
Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or team management experience.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production environments.
Good communication skills to motivate staff and interact positively with customers.
Familiarity with hospitality operations including serving, barista duties, or hotel services is advantageous.
Ability to lead by example while maintaining a friendly yet professional demeanour.
