Job Description

We are looking for a Shift Leader to join Stallcombe House.

This role will be for our 1-2-1 service onsite that is registered to provide support for 6 adults with learning disabilities and autism.

We have a vacancy for a Shift Leader to join the team.

This is a permanent position working 36.5-43.5 hours per week, to include alternate weekends. The rota is a fixed two week pattern.

Our Shift Leader's role will consist of:



ensuring that the best interests of each person we support are at the centre of any decisions made about their life, and to work in partnership with them, their advocates, family, friends and significant others. Guiding the team to so that the shift runs smoothly, motivating and leading a team of support workers. Assessing and minimising risks to keep each individual safe. Administering medication to those we support. Allocating the team to those we support ensuring opportunities for activities are promoted and choice is given to those we support. Updating records for those we support, liaising with healthcare professionals, families and other multi disciplinary professionals.

Our Shift Leader's skills and experience:



Experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in a care setting or the community Good communication skills, patience and flexibility An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support To be able to undertake a flexible working pattern Flexibility, a 'can do' attitude and a sense of humour is a must too! You will enjoy working as part of a team Experience of working with vulnerable people or those with complex needs and have experience and/ or a passion for enhancing individuals' quality of life through positive behaviour support. To support the Team Manager and Team Leader You will be expected to carry out daily tasks as well as senior duties. Have an NVQ L3 in Health & Social Care, or relevant qualification- we can support you to achieve this through our on site Training Co-Ordinator! Have supervisory/management experience Be well organised
