Here at our site in Milton Keynes, we are recruiting for a Shift Manager to join our management team.



In this role, you will effectively plan, organize, develop and direct your team in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner whilst being focused on health, safety and environmental practices and requirements.

As the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all agreed local Operations SQCDP KPIs will be met and exceeded as well as promoting & adhering to thyssenkrupp company values.

You will also support the other Shift Manager in organising and controlling resources in order to meet company targets, maintain quality standards and maximise productivity.



Please note this role is a rotating shift pattern:



Week 1- 6am-2pm



Week 2- 2pm-10pm



Key Responsibilities





Planning & organisation of labour within your team to achieve work load, ensuring production time (Equipment & labour) is fully utilized & productivity maximized. Parts / process are produced in accordance to approved Customer, & internal quality standards, Company standard practises & procedures to satisfy legal & safety requirements. To assist in the development and implementation of "Work Instructions "& Work place standards for all operational areas. Ensuring that standard working practices are followed on all operations in terms of Work Flow, WIP quantities, process/cycle times and procedures. Assists in maintaining & controlling local SQCDP Board. Conducts Shift brief communications to support results/progress against agreed targets with team.


Liaises with & supports :

Team members to achieve plans & targets. Operations Manager to achieve company KPI's. Quality Engineers to ensure quality standards are understood & achieved. New starters with training and inductions. The team when required to "fill in "to cover for absent team members (run machine etc).

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise



Essential experience, skills and knowledge:

Previous experience of leading and developing a team withing a manufacturing environment. ILM Level 5 or similar managerial qualification. Self- motivated, resilient reliable and innovative. Ability to manage and organise effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. A clear understanding of Environmental Health & Safety procedures in the work place. PC Literate with a good working knowledge of Windows based applications. Competent with using & working with a MRP / MPS system. Experience of continuous improvement techniques.



Desirable experience, skills and knowledge:



Previous experience of working with Machines / Warehouse / logistics. Previous experience working with SAP. FLT & 4 way Reach truck licence holder. CEMA or equivalent racking Inspection certificate.
