Summary of the Shift Mechanical Technician role

We are looking for a Mechanical / Electrical (M&E) Technician to join our Shift team in Cramlington, on an attractive

4 on 6 off shift pattern

. Within this role, you will be responsible for executing on-site maintenance tasks, including Mechanical repairs, modifications, plant upgrades, installations and commissioning, ensuring all equipment complies with statutory and regulatory requirements.



This role operates on a 12-hour shift pattern, consisting of

2 days, 2 nights and 6 off.

Your responsibilities

Adhere to the Sterling lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work procedures Carrying out Mechanical repairs, modifications, plant upgrades, installation, and commissioning. Maintain and optimise supporting utility systems integral for plant operability. Commitment to adhere to all EHS and Quality standards Demonstrate problem solving and diagnostic techniques on static and rotational Mechanical equipment. Identify system / asset improvement opportunities to enable improved plant reliability and efficiency. Read and interpret PID and Isometric Engineering drawings. Operate effectively both independently and as an integrated team member Embodying our company values, which are: be reliable, be caring, be transparent and be willing.

Requirements for the role

Relevant qualifications in one of the core disciplines is essential. Having a Mechanical COMPex certificate is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided. Previous experience within the chemical industry is desirable, but not essential. Capable of prioritising tasks and manage time effectively. Self-motivated with a can-do attitude. Must adept at problem-solving in a methodical manner and have good fault-finding skills. Should be able to demonstrate the ability to appropriately respond to situations with the necessary level of urgency. General understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment is desirable. It is preferred to have relevant prior experience in identifying and eliminating root causes.
